Originally from Western Australia, Rick has spent the last five years working on the water and across yachts. Rick’s journey has been defined by a deep connection to the ocean and spirit for an adventure.
Seeking hands-on experiences, Rick transitioned to a marine-focused career after studying at university, starting with a coxswain certification. From refitting vessels to documentaries, his adventures have taken him from the turquoise waters of Exmouth to the remote dive sites of Asia aboard the 60m superyacht Event, often spending months exploring remote islands and beaches.
Rick’s commitment to mastering his craft is reflected in his qualifications as a Master IV and engineer. Beyond the helm, he’s an avid freediver, surfer, and tinkerer or explorer of Tropical North Queensland and surrounds. With an adventurous spirit and extensive maritime knowledge, Rick makes every trip on-board M.Y. Beluga memorable.

Name: Justin Rogers
Position: Engineer
Nationality: Australian
Description: Originally from Trigg Beach in Western Australia, I began my career at 16 after completing Year 10, joining the Royal Australian Navy as a Clearance Diver. During my six years of service, I developed a deep appreciation for working in dynamic, challenging environments.
After leaving the Navy, I briefly worked offshore on the Wandoo Alliance project before joining Australian Customs as a Down-the-Wire Helicopter Crew member, based on Thursday Island. For five years, I thrived in this role as a helicopter rescue crew member, gaining invaluable experience while simultaneously studying marine engineering.
This led me to a role with Pacific Basin, where I worked as a marine engineer across a diverse fleet, including tugs, rig tenders, and Panamax ships. For the past seven years, I’ve been lucky enough to work on M.Y. Beluga on and off, embracing the challenges and incredible adventures this stunning vessel brings. I love the opportunities to explore unique destinations and take great pride in maintaining her to the highest standard.
